Christchurch at last!
I’ve finally arrived in Christchurch after a pretty long flight - a couple hours Denver to Los Angeles, twelve hours Los Angeles to Auckland (where I recommend that you DON’T eat the Lime Chicken if you are on Qantas) and then about an hour and a half to Christchurch.
New Zealand is amazing so far - we flew over the mountains which are all snow-covered and very beautiful.
Christchurch is a very pretty town - it is spring here and the flowers are starting to bloom. Tomorrow I’ll try to explore a bit more as I’ve only got to pick up my cold weather gear.
So I’m off to get some food and check out Cathedral Square before I pass out - it’s only 1 pm here but funny, it feels like bedtime! It felt so good to lie down - I realized once I had that it had literally been more than a day since I’d done so.
Love to everyone!!

YAY!!! James and I were just talking about you at dinner… wondering if you were there yet! Glad you made it safe. Hopefully the Lime Chicken didn’t ruin you
Get some sleep and can’t wait for the next post!
Cheech! Glad you made it. Don’t worry about the chicken, soon you will be eating penguin sashimi. If you can, catch me a Kiwi and ship it to Kristi and I.
Remember to shave the kiwi and remove the legs before you slice it - the down is kinda tickly!
Hopefully there’s no way Qantas could have matched Aeroflot’s vulcanized chicken a la Sovietique … that would really suck.
Keep your eyes open for exploding volcanoes, I think Ruapehu was supposed to be spitting out mud and flame and stuff last week! I guess this will be your last dose of real green for the season - enjoy it!
BTW, I hear Sita was picked up by DIA security, spitting and hissing something about ‘hijacking a plane’ and ‘I miss my mommy’ …
don’t worry though, she’s a resourceful kitty, she’ll be out of Gitmo and purring her way back home in no time!

Hey Laura I don’t think that was chicken. Glad you set this up so we can follow you on your big adventure.
