Phonolite ... dammit, that's on the foid side of the QAPF diagram ... quartz undersaturated lavas make my head hurt. All the vague generalities we give intro students about magmas go to hell when you break out the foids. Still, dug up (!) your lava lake on Wikipedia ... from space!
